Just dropping by to say..

Okay, so before I start I'd like to give a huge thank you to Victoria for including me in her latest 'Share the love' post! My number of followers has gone up loads (13 to 46!!!) So thank you! :)

The reason I've not posted for over a week is that I've moved away from home & am now living in university halls in Cardiff! I was soooo nervous about who I was going to be living with etc, but they're seriously all great! There's eight of us living in this particular flat (6 girls, 2 boys). One of the boys is a musician - he plays the guitar & sings - OMG he's genuinely amazing, I could listen to him play all day, everyday :) & the other guy is french, so we've all been helping him to expand his english vocabulary! Funny times :) The girls are all soo lovely too (one of them is a fab cook thank god! I will not starve whilst living with her! Happy days!)... Unfortunately since moving in last Sunday, I've only experienced two nights out! :( On Wednesday I was at a bar, a fight broke out next to us, I tried to escape but my bag got caught on the chair and a huge table (big enough to fit 15 people around) toppled and landed on my foot. I spent 6 hrs in hospital that night :( Anyway, I'm now on crutches which has completely ruined my freshers week! My foot is masssssive & black! (I would post a picture but it would probably make you all sick!) So yeah, I've had a rather eventful week - which kind of explains my lack of posting!

Despite my injuries, I have managed to drag myself (& crutches) into the city centre to pay the shops a little visit :) I bought black leggings (I forgot to bring mine with me), a plain grey tshirt, a navy/grey vest and a be-a-u-tiful scarf! (all from H&M - which I'm very excited to be living close to!) The others aren't exciting enough to post pics of but my scarf is verrrry worthy!

I've also placed an order on ELF, sooo I'll be sharing that with you all soon :) I'd best be off to socialise with my roomies! :)

Hope you've had a nice weekend guys!

Hey there, University

Before I begin, the results from the Sudocrem challenge are in &..... We're onto a winner! My spot has more or less gone! I'm sooo happy! Just in time too. I will definitely be taking the little miracle pot with me to Cardiff!!!!!

Anywayyy....
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK! I'm moving away from home tomorrow for university!! I am so bloody excited! I'm moving to Wales' capital - Cardiff to study psychology. I absolutely loved it at A level so I'm really excited to start! :)
The thought of moving away is not only scary as anything, but sooo exciting. Everything about Cardiff is different especially the fashion (which is more out there!) & I'm so excited that in 24 hours I'm gunna be living away from my mum!
I'm really excited to get my room looking like my own. I've got very brightly coloured accessories to give my room some va-va-voom! (I've probably used that word so out of context but it just seemed appropriate at the time). As most of you know, university halls of residence aren't the most exciting looking of places! I think I'm gunna have to post a pic as soon as my room's looking lovely! (well as lovely as it can look anyway! lol).... EXCITINGGGG!

My auntie was kind enough to give me a going away present, but as my room has all been packed away into boxes, my camera lead is nowhere to be seen so I'll have to post pictures soon! She bought me a few goodies from LUSH, including the 'Sex in the shower', 'Up you gets' and 'Too drunk' emotibombs! :) They smell delicious! Can't wait to try them... May have to buy quite a few more of the 'Too drunk' ones during freshers fortnight :) lol! I also had a student cook book, as I am completely clueless in the kitchen right now!! Boiled egg & toast is my speciality! So, experimenting with different foods should be quite fun, yet dangerous! Fingers crossed all will go well!

I'll probably do a post on how I'm settling in & stuff within the next few days.
Have a nice Sunday guys!

Sudocrem spot challenge

5 days, 2 spot creams & religious daily routines... & I've still got a very ugly, red spot right in the middle of my cheek. Nothing and I mean nothing seems to be helping. So, I've decided to try Sudocrem. Unbeknownst to me, my mum had some in the medication cabinet & I happened upon it earlier so I thought I'd give it a try. I've seen a few people recommend it, so I challenge it to fight this stubborn spot. I'm moving upto Cardiff for university on Saturday & I don't want my new housemates & friends to see me with this unwanted thing on my face. I'll update you with results within the next few days! :)

P.S, I LOVE St.Moriz! It's cheap & works wonders. The orange tint most other fake tanners have is absent in this little beauty. The ingredients are almost identical to St.Tropez, but it's at a fraction of the price! :) I'd never used a mousse fake tan before, but it's so easy to apply & it doesn't streak :)... (I'll post pictures as soon as I can!) I recommend highly!

I've got a few more posts coming up in the coming days... A mini haul and a 'going away to university gifts' post including a few LUSH goodies! :) eeeeek, excited!

I can't believe it's not St.Tropez

Okay so I've finally jumped on the St Moriz band wagon. Yaaay! Can't wait to try it out :)

& for £2.99 you can't really go wrong. I had to order it online because there isn't a home bargains near me - ordered it from Fragrance direct, & only had to pay £1.95 delivery! Bargain! Fab service too, I ordered it 2am Friday morning, chose standard delivery & it arrived this morning :) Big thumbs up to fragrance direct! You should all check it out, they've got fab things on the website for pennies! :)

Blonde > Brunette

Okay, I've officially converted from a bonde to a brunette. I've been wanting to do it for aaages, just for the pure fact that dark roots look awful with bleached hair & it's a pain (plus a lot of money) to keep up with.
So, yesterday I was in boots & decided to buy a dye. The plan at first was to buy blonde, but then I thought 'what the heck?!' so I took the plunge and bought some garnier dye in intense dark blonde.
And this was the transformation:-

From this:

To this:

I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised! I had no idea what it was going to look like 'cause I've always been a blondie, but I actually kind of like it :)

What do you think?! Honest opinions pleaseee..

LUSH

EEEEEEEEEEK. Up until today I was a LUSH virgin. I'd always walked past the shop holding my nose as I'd always found the smell very over whelming. Until today. After reading so many reviews on a hundred different products from there I decided to take the plunge (and I didn't even hold my nose... Hooray!) Anyway, once I was inside, I loved the smell haha. I bought:-

As you can see it's called the Sweetie soap stack which costs approx £7.78. It includes, from the top, 'I should Coco', 'Rockstar' and 'Honey I washed the kids'. I'd like to stress that these smell delicious. It takes all of my strength to not to take a bite out of each haha. GO BUY THESE! You have to! I've only used one as of yet - 'Rockstar', and yummmmy, I smell lovely, even if I do say so myself.

As I'm moving away to uni in two weeks, my cousin was absolutely lovely and bought me a going away present:-
Joy of Jelly shower jelly (The cost varies depending on the size - mine was £2.98)

These are just so much fun. I stood there in the shop for ages prodding the other jellies (Whoosh and Sweetie pie). They wobble like crazy. Now I was rather confused as to how to use these, but you literally just lather it up and rub it all over your body & hair & then you rinse. Easy peasy. It smells amazing - very fresh.

I'll do more thorough reviews after I've actually used the products properly - Just thought I'd do a little LUSH haul as I was sooo excited about losing my LUSH virginity hehe.

Green lipstick? Say whaaat?!

Well well well, looky here...

Green lip paint? Wrong. This little beauty is a specially designed waterproof formula with added aloe vera. It's long lasting (up to 8 hours) & the colour depends on the alkali levels in your lips. Clever eh?
I'm a huge fan of the Barry M lip paints. They're affordable at £4.25, highly pigmented & there's a massive range of colours! I'd advise anyyyy of you to invest in one!

I must have high alkali levels in my lips as it's a lot paler on my mum and sisters. I love the colour. It's so rich and vibrant.
Unlike some lip paints, this one isn't at all drying, unlike the classic 101, and doesn't need any lip balm underneath. It has a sheen rather than a matte finish.
Half of the fun was buying the product, not knowing what to expect. I did do a quick swatch on my hand, but it came out a very neutral skin colour. I bought it anyway & am sooo glad I did. There's also a Magic green glossy tube - which is next on my Barry M wish list.
So yeah, I'd recommend A touch of magic lip paint, eventhough it may be a completely different colour on somebody else... Go for it :) take the risk. But if this isn't your thing, Barry M has a huge range of different colours which as I said before are reasonable at £4.25 :)
You can shop Barry M online at http://www.barrym.com/ or alternatively you can pop into your local Superdrug or Boots :)

Haul

After watching endless makeup tutorials on youtube by the likes of lollipop26, AllThatGlitters21 and juicystar07, I've come to the conclusion that my makeup collection is awfully boring. Seeing as I am heading off to uni in 2 weeks I figured I didn't have much £££ to be spending on makeup :/ soooo off I headed to Boots & Superdrug on a budget.
My purchases included:
  • Collection2000 Hot looks nail varnish in:
27 - Wham
33 - Button moon
34 - Hoola Hoop (which is the prettiest pink colour)
23 - Show off

I must admit I was a bit dubious before purchasing, due to Collection2000 being a more cheap & cheerful brand, not known to have great quality. I'm pleased to say that I am in fact pleased with the products.

(I'm wearing 27 - Wham)

I actually applied this on Sunday, so 3 days ago & as you can see, it's lasted quite well. Although I did have to apply 3 times to achieve this colour. But as a whole, I'm pleased :)

  • Barry M Dazzle Dusts in:
39 (A goldy pinky dust with gold glitter - my fave colour out of my small collection)
25 (A dark gold dust which is lovely)
53 (A chocolate brown shimmer)
78 (A lovely turquoise)

I actually did a funky smokey eye with these earlier, was very nice. These cost around £4.40 from Superdrug and you do actually get quite a fair amount in the tubs. I'd prefer to apply wet, but unfortunately they themselves seem to prefer being applied dry :/

  • I actually bought a Ruby & Millie 7mm eyeliner brush to apply a thin line of Dazzle dust under my eyes too, and whilst I was at the R&M booth, I saw an eyeliner I felt I had to have in Brown.

(Oh hello Nivea caregloss)
  • I also bought Maybelline New York Pure liquid mineral foundation in Fawn 040, as my Sand 030 seems to have gone a little bit too light and in pictures I end up looking ill :/
  • Nivea caregloss & shine (as featured in the Ruby & Millie pic lol)
  • After watching one of AllThatGlitters21's videos about mascara, I felt the need to purchase L'oreal telescopic & I must agree, I love it. It makes my lashes look 10x longer than a lot of others I've used in the past. And by buying that in Boots, I received a £5 voucher for No7, so I paid an extra £2 on top of the voucher and had the Amazing Eyes pencil in black. The one with the blender on the other end. I love it.

Anything else? Hmmmm... YES! Eventhough these aren't make up products.
  • Earrings from Matalan - £4 with 75% off. A definite steal!

  • A cream quilted bag with black piping and a gold and black over the shoulder chain & matching shoes :)

Then bits & bobs for university, including kitchen utensils and Qtips.

So yeah, I think I've had a successful day of shopping. Eventhough I did manage to spent above my budget, but it's okay because I'm happy :)

Have a nice Saturday guys :)

Hello there. Me, myself & I

Hi guys!
My name's Hayley and I'm nineteen years old. I love beauty and of course, fashion. I've recently been subscribing to loads of different youtube channels & blogs and I want in! lol :) I've had this blog itself since December 2007 I think... & as you can see, this is my first entry.

This is me.... HELLOOO :) lol.

My blog is going to mainly consist of hauls & reviews because as much as I hate to admit, I'm not the best at the whole makeup application thing. I will keep trying though :) lol. Oh yeah, and I don't purchase verrry expensive products as I'm a student & can't afford it :( - bad times, so hopefully many of you will be able to relate to this blog :) So yeah, please subscribe & add me on www.twitter.com/HayleyDaviesxo
Thanks guys, HN x

Lovelies...
